Actually you should check the continuity and not ohms. If the element is bad, it will show a open circuit. This means that means the element is burnt out, and no complete circuit!

I know this is an old video, but the so-called bad element is well within the tolerance limit. If your issue was resolved after changing the element, then you probably had some corrosion or a loose connection. By the looks of the carbon build-up on those female ends, it looks like they were loose and arcing. That is where your problem was, so I hope you kept the perfectly good one you took out. I was having the same issue with mine yesterday. I removed the access plate, and just by looking, you wouldn't know it by looking at them but the insulaters on the spades were so brittle that they just desentigrated when I took hold of them to pull them off. It's a 2007 and other than that it been great. I sprayed some contact cleaner on the connectors. Most of the carbon washed right oof. I used a small wire brush to remove the rest. They cleaned up nicely. I went ahead and checked the resistance of the element while I had it out. It's a 1200-watt element at 120Vac. So it is easy to calculate what the resistance should be. Current times voltage equals power in watts. So 1200watts divided by 120Vac is 10amps. The resistance is equal to the voltage divided by the current. So again simple math. 120Vac divided by 10amps of current gives is a resistance value of 12 Ohms. It was within just an ohm or two of the calculated value, so I didn't order one for it. I put some heatshirink over the spades and used a heathun to shrink it all down nice and tight, then put it back together. It works just like it did when it came out of the box. Actually, my son done it all, I just coached him from my wheelchair.

Here what I do when I get stung by Yellow Jackets get yourself some mud and put it on where you got stung. I've been doing this since I was a kid. It really works great for me. If you need medical help I would still use the mud until you get to the ER room this will at least buy you some time.

My model had an additional bolt in the back to hold the chip tray housing, the ground wire was affixed to the opposite terminal, and the power elements were affixed by screws, but all easy thanks to watching this vid. I am confused though, did you say it was 12 degrees outside. Not sure you were clear on that. 😅

Id like a vid on trouble shooting the oil cooler system, mine was intermittant then just quit, suspect its the fan control as probe has no power to it. the other is in my coastal environment crappy gas the 1998 era carburator was all funky, bought a chinese carb but have float issues now. Id bought mine used about 5 years ago, the second week I had it the frame web that the rear swingarm is secured to broke due corrosion not evident from outside at time of purchase, managed to swap over everything onto a 2006 450 forman frame. luckly only modification was the top engine mount had to cut it add 1" to get mount holes to align. some the fender mount tabs dont line up, but so far not been an issue.

Nice video except on my unit there is a small screw to the left rear of the chip tray that has to be removed from the rear flange.

What's the plan of attack if you have no volts to the element and the thermostat is good. Continuity good. Just no volts to element. Boards showing its on.

Hired someone to do some renovations in my house and inside the floor wassimilar looking bee hive and in the back something that looked like a turtle shell. It ran about five feet. And closes to the wall was this oval looking thing. I mean he's vacuuming it all up now, long gone but can't find any matching descriptions of it. Maybe it's a different type of habitat. There is no insulation in my house but it looks too old to have been recently vacated. Going to call an expert in the morning cause it's possible they moved to a different part in the second floor. What should I do

My wiring has some garbage cloth on and the boot covers fell right off. Cant even use the wires not without adding. Garbage product design. Very disspointed

Second bee video I've watched this morning and another not using a smoker and needing to put veil, suit and gloves on because the bees got defensive! What is going on? Are smokers too expensive down there? Would make your beekeeping much more peaceful and enjoyable if you spring for one! And why not lay the lid, with bees up, in front of the entrance so they can easily find their way back in? Then lays the frame full of bees flat down on the top, likely crushing dozens. Arrrrrrrrrgh so many would-beekeepers. Qualifications: semi-commercial 200 colony management for a couple decades, raised queens, moved to pollinate fruit crops, first overwintering in our province, government bee disease inspector for several years.
